Tea and coffee are the two major beverage crops that are grown in India. tea is grown in the hill slopes of Nilgiris in southern parts of India.

It is also grown in Sikkim, and also in major parts of Dooars and Darjeeling owing to the quality of the slope of the soil.

Coffee plantations are quite common in Nilgiris, in Munnar in Kerala and also in major parts of Karntaka and South India die to the quality of the hilly soil.
