Stem cells are responsible for regeneration in planarians and which is known as neoblasts. These cells are distributed on the whole body and when the part of  worm has been amputated, they are activated to reform the tissues which have been removed . But it is still not that much clear how the stem cells regenerate specific organs.

  • Whenever a part of a planarian's body gets amputated ,these cells, which  are spread throughout the body of planarians start regenerating the the part which has got amputated.
