The given Reaction is as follows:

 \boxed{ \bold{CuSO_{4} + Zn \longrightarrow ZnSO_{4} + Cu}}

  • In the above Reaction, we can see that zinc is displacing copper from copper sulphate such that zinc sulphate is being produced and copper is getting deposited.

This type of Reaction is called DISPLACEMENT REACTION.

  • Usually , copper sulphate solution (blue coloured) is taken in a test tube. A few metallic pieces of zinc is dropped into the test tube.

  • We will observe change in colour of solution with deposition of reddish-brown coloured copper.

  • This type of displacement reaction is possible only because zinc is is comparatively higher reactive than copper.
