Concave mirror is used in solar furnace because it is converging in nature.

The concave mirror focusses sun rays at a particular point due to which the temperature at that point increases to a very high value.

HI

A concave mirror is used since it converges the parallel rays of the sun on a small area.

Higher temperature is achieved in a solar cooker by using mirrors to focus the rays of the Sun. Besides this, solar cookers are painted black from inside in order to absorb more heat. The glass plate in solar cookers traps the heat of the sun inside, thus increasing the heating efficiency.
