Mainly southwest monsoon winds are responsible for causing maximum rainfall in india. they are divided into two branches. the one that goes along the western coast is arabian sea branch and the one along the eastern coast is bay of bengal branch

The Arabian Sea branch.
The Bay of Bengal branch.
Retreating Monsoon also brings rainfall during October and November.
