The Rainy season lasts from June to September month in India when most parts of the country receive rainfall.
The South-West monsoons are the winds that blow from the sea to the land with a burst on the West coast. It gives out currents from the Arabian Sea and from the Bay of Bengal. The Arabian sea current gives heavy rainfall to the west coast and the Bay of Bengal branch gives heavy rainfall in the Eastern Himalayas.
The winds which are the cause of rainfall are "south west monsoon " wind.
This brings the monsoon season in india as the result heavy rainfall occur in whole of country. The rainy season of india starts from the june and remain approximately till the september. The regions of south india typically recieve the more rainfall during this period. And these rainfall start to lessen from the north part of the country.
