Chemo-Fusion: Several chemicalshave been used to induce protoplast fusion. Sodium nitrate (NaN03), polyethylene glycol (PEG), Calcium ions (Ca2+), Polyvinyl alcohol etc. are the most commonly used protoplast fusion inducing agents which are commonly known as chemicalfusogens.
