hello dear!

  • a parasite is an organism that depends on other living host to meet its food and nutrition needs.
  • parasites are again two types., 1) ectoparasites and

                                                             2) endoparasites

  1. ectoparasites - these are the parasites that live outside of its host. eg - flea, lice, itch mite etc.
  2. endoparasite - these are the parasites that live inside their hosts and feed on them. eg - tapeworm, liverfluke

these parasites are  always harmful to the host causing diseases and even death of their hosts.

The organism which depend upon the host organism for the basic needs like food and nutrition are called as parasites.

● Usually based on the mode of habitat parasites are divided into two types ectoparasites and endoparasites namely.

● ectoparasites are the type of parasites which live in outside the host organism like leeches, lice etc.

These parasites suck blood Or gain nutrition from the host cell but live on the surface of the organism.

● Endo parasites are the type of organisms which live inside the body of the host and gain nutrition from there itself example amoeba, tapeworm etc.
