the two elements are berrylium and magnesium
Electovalency is 2
electronic configuration
1) 1s² 2s²
2) 1s²2s²2p^6 3s²
they belong to same group ie group no.2
there chemical and physical properties are similar that is why they are placed in same group...Alkali metals or alkaline earth metals...
I think all alkali earth metals show same properties as calcium
