Some of the advantages of friction are as follows :
1)Walking:You can't walk without friction between your shoes and the ground.
2)Writing:You can't hold a pencil in your hands without friction.
3)Driving a car :Your car would not start moving if it wasn't for the friction of the tyres against the street.
Following are some disadvantages of friction :
1)Makes Movement Difficult
2)Wastes Energy
3)Generate Heat
4)Wears Things Out
