Philip Spratt and Benjamin Francis Bradley were two foreigners who were accused in Meerut Conspiracy case of 1929.
There was a Rail strike of Indian workers and trade unions sponsored by Communists. The British government perceived that the objective of communists is to overthrow British rule. So the Government arrested 33 leftists including three Englishmen- Phillip Spratt,Benjamin Francis Bradley and Lester Hutchinson. These Englishmen were spreading communist ideology in India and were sympathized with Indian Workers. They were convicted under a false suit, that is why it is being called a Conspiracy.
