The digestion of starch starts in the mouth by the action of salivary amylase, however, its activity is less than that of pancreatic amylase in the small intestine. The amylase hydrolyzes the starch into maltose, dextrin, and some glucose.

The fat is broken down into glycerol and fatty acids by the action of pancreatic lipase in the small intestine. The end product of fat are lipids and fatty acid that is used for hormonal function, energy and for the cholesterol development of the body.
