Two historical places which were built between 1916 and 1947 by Indians are :
- Cellular Jail : The Cellular Jail, also known as Kala Pani, was a colonial prison in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India. The prison was used to exile political prisoners to the remote archipelago by the British. It was opened in 1906.
- Sabarmati Ashram : Sabarmati Ashram is located in the Sabarmati suburb of Ahmedabad, Gujarat, adjoining the Ashram Road, on the banks of the River Sabarmati, four miles from the town hall. This was one of the residences of Mahatma Gandhi who used to live at Sabarmati when he is travelling not across India or was in jail.
