Nandalal bought 20 dozen note books at rs 48 per dozen. he sold 8 dozens of them at 10% gain and the remaining 12 dozens at 20%gain. What is his gain percent in the whole transaction?.

10% of 48 is 4.8 and 20% of 48 is 9.6 it means he earned RS (4.8*8+4.8*12).
the total money he gained is 153.6 and he spend RS 48*20=960.
hence the percentage of his earning is RS((153.6*100)/960)=16%
