let the number of cows be x
So no. of buffaloes will be 2x
x+2x= 21
3x = 21
x= 21/3
x= 7
No. of cows is 7
no.of buffaloes is 14

Here is your answer.
Let the number of cows be x
So,
x + 2x = 21 \\ 3x = 21 \\ x =  \frac{21}{3}  \\ x = 7
Number of buffaloes is 2x =2×7
=14

Therefore,He has 7 cows and 14 buffaloes.

Hope it helps you.
