naphthalene is a sublime substance ,So it sublimates directly from solid to gas, by the process of sublimation

IT IS BECAUSE NAPHTHALENE BALLS ARE IN GASEOUS STATE OF SOLID WHICH DISAPPEAR BY THE PROCESS OF SUBLIMATION.
