Fears On My Exam Day
The train was late. My examination centre was ten kilometers away. Exam was to start at 9 am. I came out of the station and was looking for a rikhawaalah who could take me to the centre. But all the rikshas were booked or were occupied. No one could take to the centre.
I started sweating profusely. I couldn't miss the exams. My family completely depended upon me. Time was moving faster, I simply couldn't stand there looking for a riksha. So I started walking with tears in my eyes. I knew I could not reach the exam hall on time.
I walked and walked and somehow finished two kilometers. I was so tired and I was stuttering as I walked. All those numericals in Physics were brewing up in my head and I was totally traumatised. This was when a God sent angel appeared in front of me in the form of a taxi- driver.
'Where do you want to go? You look so tired', he asked. I told him I had to go to the exam centre and there was only some time to reach there. 'Jump in', he said, 'I will help you reach there'.
The rest was just a blur. I had never seen such a super awesome driving with such speed except in movies. The road was clear. He finished kilometer after kilometer in matter of minutes. As we were nearing the exam centre, I could see many students giving their good byes to their parents and going into the exam hall. He stopped the car and said, 'You are not late! Go fast!'. I was checking the meter and I could see that the amount it showed was so big that I could not pay him that. He saw me looking and said, 'Never mind about payment. Go fast.'
I rushed into the exam hall right in time. The exam paper was easy and I solved all the problems. When I completed my paper and came out of the center, I saw him waiting for me out there. 'I will leave you back at the railway station', he smiled. I couldn't possibly thank him.
When we reached the railway station, I asked him, 'How can I possibly ever repay you?' He was silent for a moment and then said, 'Just let me know your board results.' We both smiled at this. 'Thanks a lot', I said and went back to the station.
Today, I am going back to the railway station. I have passed with flying colours. I am going back to tell him about it. He must really know as he is the God sent angel who helped me write my exam!
