The events which led to Heyele accepting the offer of the fatalist was the sheer belief of the fatalist which helped to convince her to marry him. How this happened?

Explanation:

One day the fatalist told Heyele that it was fated that she would marry him. Heyele replied by saying that "It's fated that I should tell you that you're an idiot and that you've got lots of nerve besides."

Later, Heyele became engaged to another man who postponed their wedding.  When word got out the fatalist used the, "i told you so", approach.

Next, Heyele challenged Benjamin to prove that he believed in fate by lying on the railroad tracks as the train would pass by.

She dared him,"If it's fated that you live, you will live and have nothing to fear."

Benjamin made Heyele bet on this so if he won, she would break her engagement and marry him.

Benjamin ended up being too daring and Heyele screamed for him to back out from this dare. That's why she ended up marrying him.
