Narrate the story of The Dear Departed from the view of Abel Merry Weather
Answers
As this is a creativity-based question, you should answer it in your own words. However, the following points can be used to frame the answer in your own words.
• I am an old man living with my daughter and her family
• My children are very greedy. They want my wealth
• They do not want me to get married again and be happy
• Their selfish nature irritates me
• They think I am dead and fight over my things
• They are not at all happy to see me alive and healthy
• I would rather donate my things to someone needy than leaving it for my children
The materialistic and selfish attitude of my daughters hurt me to the core. I had a feeling they were greedy, but I had not known the extent! They assumed me dead! And how normal, unaffected, rather happy they were at my assumed demise! Drinking tea jocundly with me lying dead upstairs! They didn't seem to be sad, deprived or in pain at my assumed death! They did not even bother to call a doctor! Amelia and Henery crossed all limits of decency! They pinched my bureau, clock, and newly bought slippers! They must be discussing how much each of them would get from the will! I was surprised to see them in mourning. That's why all of them were scared to see me! They thought I was a ghost! But I taught them a lesson. I got my will altered. Mrs. John Shorrocks, who cared so much for me, was nominated as the sole heir of all my money and property. I bequeathed enough for Virginia who had been always caring to me. But I did not leave a penny for either of my daughters. I knew they were looking forward to getting a huge share. But they didn't get anything from me! I am happy over what I did!
