QualityToy stores are fun for anyone to go into, so for this assignment I went to an actual toy store. For me a toy aisle wasn’t good enough. I wanted that childlike feeling of joy, wonder, and awe. The story is a little shop down on Massachusetts Avenue (Mass. Ave.) called “Mass. Ave. Toy Shop. It has been one of my favorite places to go since I was little and I thought it would be great for this assignment. The reason I did is because this store is a little different, not like your traditional toy aisle in Walmart. I want to start this paper off by talking about the arrangement of the store, it is one of my favorite things about this place. First of all some of them are from local Indiana producers, which is a big deal for me, I love supporting local people. Besides that, though, the toys they have are typically not colored a specific way. The kitchen set they have sitting out is multicolored, not pink. It looks attractive for both a girl and boy to play with. Actually my little cousin, who doesn’t touch anything pink, plays with the kitchen when we go in there. The only things that are all pink are some of the princess castles. Even the workbench toy they have in the store in neutral colors. They also have a giant range of toys as well. They range from toys that would be good for a tiny baby to toys that I have in my room currently. They make sure the toys are good for all genders as well as all ages. A side note for this amazing place. They don’t even split up gender on their website. There is not boy and girl section. There is “cutest” “toughest” “oddest” and others like …show more content…

Yes, out of the box. When you walk through Mass Ave Toy Shop most of the toys have a “tester”. When I asked the people behind the desk why that is they said “Because kids, as well as their parents, should have a chance to play before they buy. You can only tell if it looks fun from the box, not if it is actually fun.”. I think this is an important aspect for the children especially because then they won’t get caught up on how flashy the toy looks but if they actually like playing with it.
