National income is not a true measure of development because of the following reasons -

  • the national income do not include the certain services and production firms which affects the country's economy.
  • it is also do not identify the distribution of income.
  • it also do not include the education and health service sectors which are the major contributor of country's national income.
  • thus, it gives just an estimated and superficial economic condition of the country.
