I hope this letter finds you doing good deeds as you always did when you were on Earth. Your life has been an inspiration not only for Indians, but for people from all other countries as well. Happy 150th birthday to you. You are an epitome of many virtues, self-less actions, and peace-spreading thoughts. No wonder you are called Mahatma (The Great Soul) by the entire world. One quality of yours that inspires me the most is the virtue of cleanliness.

You worked so much on sensitizing people of India in the backward areas to personal cleanliness and hygiene. You sent your disciples to far flung backward areas to make people aware of cleanliness. Your cleanliness mission inspired me to work for cleanliness drive launched across the nation. I thank you from the core of my heart for being a role model. I on the occasion of your 150th birth anniversary assure you that I will also work dedicatedly and unselfishly to carry forward the Swachhta Abhiyan that you started long ago.

I promise I will keep myself, my school, my home and my community clean. I will use dustbin and never litter the waste. I will wash hands properly with soap or sanitizers before eating. I will stop wasting water and maintain personal hygiene. I will volunteer shramdaan (my services), wherever required to do cleanliness. I promise I will adopt recycling and receiving waste and promote this culture.  The rest is fine. Parnam.
