from this poem we know that both fire and ice had the ability to destroy the earth. many people say that one day the earth will end because of fire and some say that the earth will end because of ice . Both fire and ice are harmful for the earth. For the poet fire stands for desire, passion,greed,cruelty ,rigidity, etc.and ice stands for hatredness, jealousy, in different attitude, intolerance etc.The only thing that would save earth is love, sympathy, understanding each other will save the earth from destruction.
