Loudness:
Loudness of a sound is a measure of the sound energy reaching the ear per second.

Pitch:
Pitch is that characteristic of sound by which we can distinguish between different sounds of the same loudness.

Amplitude:

The maximum displacement of the particles of the medium from their original undisturbed positions when a wave passes through the medium is called amplitude of the wave.

Frequency:

The number of complete waves or cycles produced in one second is called frequency of the wave.

Solution:

a) the loudness of sound is determined by the amplitude of sound waves.

Greater the amplitude of sound waves louder the sound will be.

The loudness of a sound is measured in decibel. It is written as dB.

b) the pitch of a sound is determined by the frequency of the vibration of the sound producing source.

Greater the frequency of a sound the higher will be its pitch.
