Answer:  Neal makes a cleaning solution by mixing water and vinegar. He uses 7 cups of water for every 3 cups of vinegar.

To find : many more cups of vinegar he needs when he uses 7.5 cups of water than when he uses 4.5 cups of water.

Solution:

y = kx

y =  cups of water

x = cups of vinegar.

=> 7  = k (3)

=> k = 7/3

y = 7x/3   is the Equation

if he uses 4.5 cups of water

4.5  = 7x₁/3

=> 13.5/7 = x₁

if he uses  7.5 cups of water

=> 7.5 = 7x₂/3

=> 22.5/7 =   x₂

=>  x₂ -  x₁  =  22.5/7   - 13.5/7

=>   x₂ -  x₁  =  9/7

9/7  more cups of vinegar needed
