we know that basins are the area where all the sediments of rivers gets deposited by the meeting of several tributaries.the
area becomes excellent land for the cultivation of any crops as the soil has too much alluvial content, sufficient amount of potash, calcium and other minerals important for the better growth of crops .
now if we see the ganga brahmaputra basin which is the largest basin in the world and it meets at bay of bengal and flows to bangladesh but the larger part of basin is in india called sunderbans. the ganga flows till farakka in west bengal.the ganga bifurcates here at hooghly then the brahmaputra after entering west bengal is called meghna.
paddy cultivation is done in ganga because brahmaputra basin as it is peninsular river and recievs water whole year.
it has fertile soil.
it has a moderate climate which is most suitable for paddy production.
it has also a huge diversity of flora and fauna.
(that's all from my side )
