⭐THE INNER TRANSITION METAL⭐

↪The inner transition metal are two series of elements known as Lanthanoids and Actinoids. They are usually shown below all the elements in periodic table, but they belongs to period 6 and 7.

The Lanthanoid series consists of 14 elements Cerium through Lutetium (atomic no. 58 - 71).
Likewise, the Actinoid series consists of the 14 elements Thorium through Lawrencium (atomic no. 90- 103).

Many of Actinoids do not occur naturally but were synthesised through nuclear reaction.

⬛THE LANTHANOID⬛

↪The term LANTHANOID indicates that the elements in this series follow LANTHANUM in periodic table. All the lanthanoids are silvery white, soft metals and tarnish rapidly in air.

The 14 elements in Lanthanoid series are :

⭐ CERIUM (Ce) -- 58

⭐ PRASEODYMIUM (Pr) -- 59

⭐ NEODYMIUM (Nd) -- 60

⭐ PROMETHIUM (Pm) -- 61

⭐ SMARIUM (Sm) -- 62

⭐ EUROPIUM (Eu) -- 63

⭐ GADOLINIUM (Gd) --64

⭐ TERBIUM (Tb) -- 65

⭐ DYSPROSIUM (Dy) -- 66

⭐ HOLMIUM (Ho) --67

⭐ ERBIUM (Er) -- 68

⭐ THULIUM (Tm) --69

⭐ YTTERBIUM (Yb) -- 70

⭐ LUTETIUM (LU) --71

➡Uses :-

↪Most LANTHANOID are widely used in Laser.

⬛THE ACTINOID⬛

↪The ACTINOID, is a fashion similar to the Lanthanoid series is named after the element ACTINIUM. The Actinoids are highly reactive.

The 14 elements in Actinoid series are :-

⭐ THORIUM (Th) -- 90

⭐ PROTACTINIUM (Pa) -- 91

⭐ URANIUM (U) --92

⭐ NEPTUNIUM (Np) --93

⭐ PLUTONIUM (Pu) --94

⭐ AMERICIUM (Am) --95

⭐ CURIUM (Cm) --96

⭐ BERKELIUM (Bk) -- 97

⭐ CALIFORNIY (Cf) -- 98

⭐ EINSTENIUM (Es) --99

⭐ FERMIUM (Fm) --100

⭐ MENDELEVIUM (Md) --101

⭐ NOBELIUM (No) --102

⭐ LAWRENCIUM (Lr) --103

➡ USES :-

↪It is used as FUEL in Nuclear Waepon and Nuclear Reactor.
