Need of federalism in multilingual and multiracial countries

This is a matter of provision of satisfaction for the unique individual needs of the races that make up the country.

The most crucial reason for support for  federalism in a country with such a setting, is the fact that democracy is improved as there are many electoral positions leading to diversity  in governance . The most key factor that this leads to, is that majority rule can be kept in check by the support for a more pluralist rule. What this means is that everyone's need's can be catered for and not only of the race or tribe with the largest number.

Power in kept in check. This is a result of  a central government that acts like a watch dog over the constituting state governments. This important as the central government ensures that power is not abused.

Since there are different races in such a setting and each with there own unique needs, federalism provides a means of the various communities(races) to govern themselves in line with their beliefs and culture without interfering with each others systems while still maintaining unity as one nation.

The need for Federalism in a multilingual, multiracial country guarantees:

Conventional distribution of authority with majoritarianism.

It preserves the nation from distinction on the basis of color, belief, expression etc.

It guarantees the proper representation of each segment of society.

It furnishes growth to national unification of the country such as India.
