As we all know that India is a most famous country all over the world for its great tradition and culture where women are given most respected place in the society from the ancient time. It is the country where women are considered as safer and most respected. Women are given the place of Goddess Lakshmi in the Indian society. Indian women are found working in all fields like aeronautics, space, politics, banks, schools, sports, businesses, army, police, and many more. We cannot say that this country has no any women concern however we cannot ignore positive points for women in India. If we remember our history, we found that there was Panchaali Pratha in which a single woman (Draupadi) was allowed to get married to five men (Pandavas). It was all that what we see from our open eyes however if we see behind the curtain we will found all the crimes against women at home, offices, streets, etc. By seeing last few crimes against women in India such as rape cases, acid attacks, etc, the safety of women has been in doubt.

Need of Safety of Women In India

Safety of women has to be the first priority. It is important for everyone- from government to corporate and individuals- to come together to make India a safer place for women to work and live.

If you search the internet , there are numerous stories of girls being raped by cab drivers, molestations, killing for marrying a man of another caste, foot-binding, acid burning cases and much more.

Once you feel unsafe in a place, it is hard to ever feel safe there again-one in three women and girls worldwide experience some form of sexual violence in their lifetime.

Women Safety is pervasive human right violation in every culture, every country ,every religion, every society, every time period, everywhere in the world – it is the women who are poor because they are the ones who have less choice, political voice, mobility, access to healthcare, no access to education and mainly they are more vulnerable to violence . The question is how are we going to end this? Well it is time we start taking it personally!

The year 2018, was full of mixed feelings. #MeToo movement was successful in gaining attention in India and worldwide, many powerful men lost their jobs and they were forced to resign. But on the other hand we can see lot of work which needs to be done. Heads of government, from Donald Trump to Yogi Adityanath, continue to play down and demean women, relegating them to second – class citizenry. This has to be stopped so that women can live in a happy, safe and inclusive world.
