Hey Friends,
Child labour is one of the ills in our society. It is very unfortunate that children below 14 years have to do labour work in this world. The government has banned child labour. There are still about 4 million child workers in India and many of them work in hazardous environment.
A reason for them to do labour work is that they have no one to look after that is they are orphans. Or, it is possible that they are forced by some one to do labour work. It is possible that some gangs terrorize them and make them work, so that they earn riches through the children. That used to be the situation a decade ago and earlier. Not anymore friends.
Now there are more schools. People are more educated. There are more opportunities. There are many child welfare and charity organizations run by the government and private persons.
Article 24 of Indian Constitution prohibits hazardous child labour. The IPC Juvenile and Justice Act-2000 and the Child Labour Act-1986 are the legal protections for the children. And, that shows that the society and government care for children.
Whatever it is, children have a right to education and school. Children in bonded labour are rescued by police and social workers. They are taken care and given special skills in a profession. Thus they stand on their own feet and earn by themselves.
Perhaps by 2020 we may not see any child having to beg or work for food. Hope so. I am against child labour. Friends raise your hand with me if you also support that.
