New Agricultural equipments and machines are much more beneficial than the old ones. The new ones require less time and labour.

The old agricultural equipments & methods for agriculture are as follows :

♦ Plough & Hoe : used for preparation of soil.

♦ Manures : In early days manures were used.

♦ Early methods in irrigation were :

Moat
Dhekli
Chain Pump
Rahat

♦ Trowel & harrow : used for weeding.

♦ Sickle : Used for harvesting.

♦ Granaries : Used for storing grains.

The new equipments & methods for agriculture are as follows :

♦ Cultivator : Used for preparation of soil. Plough and hoe are replaced by cultivator.

♦ Tractors : Tractors are used for many purposes in agriculture such as preparation of soil.

♦ Seed-drill : Used for sowning seeds. It is a new machine which saves labour and time.

♦ Fertilisers : This days fertilisers are used instead of Manures as they provide specific nutrients.

♦ New methods of irrigation are :

Srinkler system
Drip irrigation

♦ Weedicides : Used for weeding. Weedicides are sprayed in the agricultural fields with sprayers. It saves both time and labour.

♦ Combine : Used for both harvesting and threshing. It saves time and labour.

♦ Winnowing machines : Used for winnowing.

♦ Silos : Used for storage of grains. It is much more beneficial than graineries.

➤ Answer of your question.

Advancement In science has led to the introduction of new implements to make our life easier , Comfortable and to save Time as well.

Let's move on to the New and Old agricultural equipments.

⦿ During Preparation of Soil.

◇ Earlier
→ Plough - Made of up wood and is drawn by a pair of bull for loosening of soil.
→ Hoe - Used for removal of weeds and for loosening of Soil.

◇ Modern times.
→ Cultivator - Ploughing is done by tractor driven cultivator, which saves time as well as labour.

⦿ Sowing

◇Earlier
→ Broadcasting - Sowing seeds manually.

◇ Modern times.
→ Seed drill - A metal tube with a funnel on the top which is attached to plough.

⦿ Addition of Nutrients.

◇ Earlier
→ Manures - Natural organic substances contains Humus but not inorganic nutrients.

◇ Modern times
→ Fertilizers - Inorganic compound used to increase some specific nutrients in the soil.

⦿ Irrigation

◇ Earlier
→ Pulley System
→ Dhekli
→ Chain pump
→Rahat system.

◇ Modern times
→ Drip irrigation
→ Sprinkler irrigation
→ Basin Irrigation
→ Furrow irrigation.

⦿ Protection from Weeds.

◇ Earlier
→ Manually - By Hand \ Manual.

◇ Modern times
→ Weedicides \ Herbicides - Chemicals To be sprayed In order to Kill weeds.

⦿ Harvesting

◇Earlier
→ Threshing and Harvesting are done manually.

◇ Modern Times
→ A thresher Is used for threshing \ Combiner is used for both Threshing and Harvesting.

⦿ Storage

◇Earlier
→ Silos - Small hut like structure Used for storage of grains.

◇ Modern
→ Granaries - A Room of huge space used to store grains on a large scale.
