"At 11:40pm, on the 14th of April, 1912, the RMS titanic sank. It was carrying reportedly 2208 people from Southampton to New York, right before hitting an ice berg on the North Atlantic.

It's said that around 8:30pm, its engines were still on perfect working condition.

The lifeboats, which were relatively less in number than the passengers on board, weren't lowered until it was confirmed that the ship was sinking.

Officers from the white star line issued a statement ensuring the safety of all on board, but it was soon changed to the statement saying that ""lives have been lost.""

By 2:20 Am, the ship was submerged completely. This tragedy reportedly claimed the lives of over 1500 people on board
