Required Answer:-

Only Inertia (Option C)

Newton's first law deals with the law of intertia which describes about the qualitative nature of Force.

Intertia is the tendency of any object to resist it's state of rest or uniform motion until and unless compelled by any external unbalanced force. According to this, There are 3 types of Inertia:

  • Inertia of rest
  • Inertia of motion
  • Ineetia of direction.

Let's take an common example:

Vehicle and passenger:

  • Inertia of rest: When we are sitting inside the vehicle and the vehicle starts suddenly, we fall backward because of Inertia of rest. Our lower body is in contact with the vehicle and our upper body is not.

  • Inertia of motion: When we are sitting inside a moving vehicle and the vehicle stops suddenly, we fall forward because of Inertia of motion. Again the same, Our lower body is in contact with the vehicle and our upper body is not.

  • Inertia of Direction: A moving vehicle travelling in the same straight line when takes a sharp turn, we tend to fall outwards in the same direction of previous one. This is due to Inertia of Direction.
