According to Newton's third law, every action is accompanied by a reaction. Thus, we came to know that forces always exist in pairs. Or in other words we can say that a single isolated force cannot exist.

Action and reaction don't act on the same body. It only involved two bodies and hence do not cancel each other.

It is not necessary that the two bodies should have physical contact to exert force on each other.
