Nichrome wire get heat up easily as it have more resistance as compare to the copper wire

Explanation:

  • Nichrome and copper wire of same length and same area of cross-section, resistivity of nichrome wire is more as compare to copper so nichrome have more resistance as compare to copper so have more heat

                     R = ρ\frac{l}{A}

where, ρ = resitivity of the material

l= length of material

A = area of cross-section

R = resistance of material

  • Value of resistance is more then the value of heat produced is more as by joule's heating law

                   H = I²Rt

  • As the value of resisitivity of nichrome is more that is it produces more hindrance to the current flowing through it, so the molecules get more heated due to obstruction thus more heat is there and nichrome get heated first as compare to the copper
