because nichrome has high resistance by which nichrome produce heat

Nichrome is an alloy of mainly nickel, chromium n sometimes of iron...
It is used as heating element because it is a high resistance wire when current is passed through it the resistance wire becomes very hot n produces heat... more over, it has high melting point...
