HELLO DEAR,

let the Mark's obtain by IIesh be x
and marks obtain by Nilesh be y.

according to questions,

Nilesh got twice the marks as obtained by Ilesh,

so,y = 2x

2x - y = 0 --------( 1 )

and,
The sum of the marks as obtained by them is 135.

it means the sum of marks obtain by llesh and Nilesh is 135

therefore,

x + y = 135------( 2 )

Hence, the required equations are given above,

I HOPE ITS HELP YOU DEAR,
THANKS

Dear Student,

Solution:

Let the marks obtained by Nilesh are x

and marks obtained by Ilesh are y

A.T.Q. Nilesh got twice the marks as obtained by Ilesh,
when we equate those marks,we write as

x = 2y
because Nilesh has twice the marks then Ilesh, that's why we have to multiply 2 in llesh marks to equate both.

Now as the sum of marks of both Nilesh and llesh is 135.

So, on adding
x + y = 135
This is the final equation to represent the given situation.

Now by both equations you can calculate the marks of both

just put x = 2y in the second equation

Hope it helps you
