Nitrogen accounts nearly 79% of the air. Still Nitrogen is the most limiting
nutrient for plant growth. Why? Explain the terms nitrification and
denitrification

it is important and the most because it is utilised by the plants in the soil in various ways .nitrification is what gives nutrition and denitrification is what does not give nutrition

The nitrogen is the major component of our atmosphere but still the nitrogen is the most limitimg component for the plant growth.

Because,all the atmospheric nitrogen gases are in oxide forms which cannot be absorbed by the plants.

That's why the basic nitrogen which is added in the soil due to nitrification process of many bacterias are absorbed by the plants.

And this type of basic nitrogen formation is very limited.

That's why nitrogen is still the most limiting nutrient for the plant growth.
