electronic configuration of nitrogen is 2,5and electronic configuration of phosphorus is 2,8,5.
nitrogen will be more electronegative as phosphorus lies below nitrogen in activity series.

Electronic configuration of PHOSPHORUS :
2,8,5
Nitrogen will be more electronegative since electronegativity because outermost shell is nearer to the nucleus and thus nucleus will attract electrons more strongly
