it is a rational number because if we multiple both the brackets we get (3 square - root 7 square and after sloving we get 9-7. So the answer is 2 and 2 is a rational .Thank you

(3-√7) (3+√7)

= (3)^2 - (√7)^2

= 9 - 7

= 2

2 is a rational number
So it's rational

Hope it will help you .
