The Lewis structure for water is comprised of a polar covalent bond with 2 lone pairs (situated on the oxygen atom).

n (moles) =m(mass)/M(molar mass)

M of water: 18.015 g*mol^-1

m, obviously, is as given: 9 grams;

Therefore,

n=9grams/18.015g*mol^-1 = 0.5 mol (H2O)

Total number of lone pairs is then: 0.5*2*6.0221*10e+23 = 6.0221*10^23 lone
