You are running an experiment for your professor like the iodine test we did in class (what we did was to use iodine to determine the presence of starch in plant leaves). You expect the iodine to NOT react with a certain specimen, but it does. What do you do?

Answer:

The presence of starch in leaves can be tested by the Iodine test. When we remove chlorophyll from the leaf by boiling it in alcohol and then put two drops of iodine solution, it is colour change to blue indicates the presence of starch
