1. Sun is described as glorious because for the Ancient Mariner and the other sailers, the sun is a sign of relief from the mist and snow
2. At first, the sailers blame the mariner for killing the Albatross who came as a christian sould and good omen. Later when they see the sun rising, they contradict themselves by saying that the Mariner was right in killing the Albatross as the believe the bird has bought the mist and snow.
