Northern plains are important for Indian economy because of its fertility. the great Himalayan rivers brings soil from higher region to lower region. the soil in higher region is highly fertilised. while it flows from higher region the soil becomes more fertile. as farming is the back bone of India the fertility of soil and river attracts large agricultural population and leads to the economic growth of India
