Not all the seeds produce by a plant get a chance to grow.why

all the seeds produced by plants do not get a chance to grow because they may not have proper seed dispersal.
if they are not dispersed thet have to compete with the parent plant to get sunlight and other nutrients ..thus they do not get a chance to grow.
