• The muscles which are present on the walls of the heart, are known as "Heart muscles".

• The heart muscles are also known as "Cardiac muscles".

• Heart/Cardiac muscles are striated in nature.

• Cardiac muscles occur exclusively on the walls of the heart.

• Cardiac muscles are involuntary in nature i.e. their movements cannot be controlled according to the will of the organism.

• Cardiac muscles are innervated by the autonomic nervous system.

• Cardiac muscles never take rest and thus, are functional throughout the lifetime of an organism.
