Jyotiba Phule belong to a family of flower sellers. He attacked the brahmins claim that they were superior to others, since they were Aryans. Jyotiba Phule

Jyotiba Phule was a social reformer of Maharashtra. He established the 'Satya Shodhak Samaj' in order to inculcate confidence, courage and enthusiasm in people. He started a school for girls in Pune in 1857C.E. and helped the widows to remarry. He also challenged the authority of the Brahmins in the society.
