Ramanath Sastri, a 11 year old child, went to the Elementary school of Rameswaram as a 5th grade student. Everyday, in the lunch hour, he sits with his new Muslim friend. They shared stories together, talked about the wonders and developments in the world, and much, much more! One day, while Ramanath was going to meet his friend, he encountered the new teacher who came to school that day. She asked him where he was going. He said, " Ma'am, I am going to the school bench to talk with my friend." . "Why are you doing that? Isn't he Muslim? Go play with your friends, and don't sit with him." replied the teacher. That night, Ramanath told his father what has happened. The very next day, while it was lunch break again, his father arrived with his friend Jainulabdeen. They went straight to the teacher's office. They met and told her all about the equality taught by Vivekananda. She was told not to spread religious hatred. After that, there was no complaint from the teacher regarding religion and she has learnt her lesson. But, she wasn't the only one. he Muslim child had stayed close and listened to the discussion between his and his friends' parents. And he too learnt a great and valuable lesson. You want to know who this shy, calm and ethical boy is? He is the 11th president of Independent India and none other than APJ Abdul Kalam.
