Hi Dear

Nucleus of an atom is heavy and positively charged because it is free from electrons and has only protons and neutron commonly called nucleons.

It is assumed that the whole mass of the atom is totally concentrated at the centre and hence it is heavy.

Nucleus of an atom is made up of protons that are positively charged and neutrons that are neutral. The total mass of neutrons and protons make it heavy.
