Let the original principal = ₹100
Therefore, simple interest = 100*12*2/100 =₹24
For compound interest
Principal = ₹100
First year's interest = 100*12*1/100=12
Second year's principal =(100+12) =112
Second year's interest =112*12*1/100 =13.44
Hence the amount after 2 years =₹(100+12+13.44)
Therefore compound interest =125.44 - 100 =25.44
Hence difference between C.I. and S.I.
=₹(25.44 - 24)
=₹1.44
Therefore when difference is ₹1.44 principal is ₹100
Therefore when difference is ₹12 principal is
₹100*12/1.44
=2500/3
